computed tomography

A CT scan, or computed tomography scan, is a medical imaging technique used to create detailed images of the inside of the body. Unlike standard X-rays, which provide flat, two-dimensional images, a CT scan combines multiple X-ray images taken from different angles and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional views, or “slices,” of the body.

A CT scan can show detailed images of any part of the body, including the bones, muscles, organs and blood vessels.
